British Aid worker, David Haines, Beheaded by ISIS

Untitled9

The Islamic State yesterday released a video showing the beheading of British aid worker, David Haines, who was abducted in Syria last year. Before he was executed, the father of 2 blamed British Prime Minister David Cameron for his death. He said;

“My name is David Cawthorne Haines. I would like to declare that I hold you David Cameron entirely responsible for my execution. You entered voluntarily into a coalition with the United States against the Islamic State, just as your predecessor Tony Blair did, following a trend amongst our British Prime Minsters who can’t find the courage to say no to the Americans. Unfortunately it is we the British public that in the end will pay the price for our Parliament’s selfish decisions.’

We all know they force these hostages to make these statements but why even say it if you know they will still kill you? Haines is the third westerner to be beheaded in the last few weeks.

Before executing his hostage, the Islamic State militant called Jihadi John by the media, said;

“This British man has to the pay the price for your promise, Cameron, to arm the Peshmerga against the Islamic State. Ironically he has spent a decade of his life serving under the same Royal Air Force that is responsible for delivering those arms.

‘Your evil alliance with America which continues to strike the Muslims of Iraq and most recently bombed the Haditha Dam will only accelerate your destruction, and playing the role of the obedient lapdog, Cameron, will only drag you and your people into another bloody and unwinnable war.’

Responding to the video, British Prime Minister David Cameron said

“This is a despicable and appalling murder of an innocent aid worker. It is an act of pure evil. My heart goes out to the family of David Haines who have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude throughout this ordeal. We will do everything in our power to hunt down these murderers and ensure they face justice, however long it takes,” Cameron said.

US Finally Declares War Against IS

The United states has finally declared war with Islamic State radicals, as they try to end the terrible onslaught of the group.Dy72N1wiWaoMwAF36R9Qg22G (1)

Secretary of State John Kerry talked to the nation with a series of television appearances and he refused to tag the expansion of US operations against IS in Iraq and Syria as “war.”

But when forced to answer Obama’s feelings for the conflict, the White House and Pentagon left little doubt.

“The United States is at war with ISIL in the same way that we are at war with Al-Qaeda and its Al-Qaeda affiliates all around the globe,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

Meanwhile Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said: “But make no mistake, we know we are at war with ISIL in the same way we’re at war and continue to be at war with Al-Qaida and its affiliates”.

Obama is planned to be in Tampa Florida this Wednessday to have a meeting with US Central Command, which oversees American forces in the Middle East.

Keery had on thursday taken a look at the Middle East building an anti-IS coalition, and refused to use the term “war” in referring to the US campaign, telling people not to indulge in “war fever.”

“We’re engaged in a major counterterrorism operation, and it’s going to be a long-term counterterrorism operation,” Kerry said.

“I think ‘war’ is the wrong terminology and analogy but the factis that we are engaged in a very significant global effort to curb terrorist activity,” Kerry said

The Islamic State (IS) formerly the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant Arabic or the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is a Sunni jihadist group in the Middle East. In its self-proclaimed status as a caliphate, it claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world.

I Know Davis, I Worked With Him Under FG – Soyinka

[caption id="attachment_1657" align="aligncenter" width="620"]j9JYBKn0uteBFqa7b1ryriSo Stephen Davis with MEND, including Asari Dokubo[/caption]

Nobel  Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has in a new piece called Wages of Impunity, described Stephen Davis as a federal government negotiator and they worked together when negotiating with  the Nigeria Delta militants under Late President Umaru Musa Yaar’adua’s administration.

The well known and respected author wrote:

While await, the Chibok girls, and in that very connection, there is at least an individual whom the nation needs to bring back, and urgently. His name is Stephen Davis, the erstwhile negotiator in the oft aborted efforts to actually bring back the girls. Nigeria needs him back – no, not back to the physical nation space itself, but to a Nigerian induced forum, convoked anywhere that will guarantee his safety and can bring others to join him. I know Stephen Davis, I worked in the background with him during efforts to resolve the insurrection in the Delta region under President Umaru Yar’Adua. I have not been involved in his recent labours for a number of reasons.
The most basic is that my threshold for confronting evil across a table is not as high as his – thanks, perhaps, to his priestly calling. From the very outset, in several lectures and other public statements, I have advocated one response and one response only to the earliest, still putative depredations of Boko Haram and have decried any proceeding that smacked of appeasement. There was a time to act – several times when firm, decisive action, was indicated. There are certain steps which, when taken, place an aggressor beyond the pale of humanity, when we must learn to accept that not all who walk on two legs belong to the community of humans – I view Boko Haram in that light. It is no comfort to watch events demonstrate again and again that one is proved to be right.

Thus, it would be inaccurate to say that I have been detached from the Boko Haram affliction – very much the contrary. As I revealed in earlier statements, I have interacted with the late National Security Adviser, General Azazi, on occasion – among others. I am therefore compelled to warn that anything that Stephen Davis claims to have uncovered cannot be dismissed out of hand.
It cannot be wished away by foul-mouthed abuse and cheap attempts to impugn his integrity – that is an absolute waste of time and effort. Of the complicity of ex-Governor Sheriff in the parturition of Boko Haram, I have no doubt whatsoever, and I believe that the evidence is overwhelming. Femi Falana can safely assume that he has my full backing – and that of a number of civic organizations – if he is compelled to go ahead and invoke the legal recourses available to him to force Sheriff’s prosecution. The evidence in possession of Security Agencies – plus a number of diplomats in Nigeria – is overwhelming, and all that is left is to let the man face criminal persecution. It is certain he will also take many others down with him.

Regarding General Ihejirika, I have my own theories regarding how he may have come under Stephen Davis’ searchlight in the first place, ending up on his list of the inculpated. All I shall propose at this stage is that an international panel be set up to examine all allegations, irrespective of status or office of any accused. The unleashing of a viperous cult like Boko Haram on peaceful citizens qualifies as a crime against humanity, and deserves that very dimension in its resolution. If a people must survive, the reign of impunity must end. Truth – in all available detail – is in the interest, not only of Nigeria, the sub-region and the continent, but of the international community whose aid we so belatedly moved to seek.

From very early beginnings, we warned against the mouthing of empty pride to stem a tide that was assuredly moving to inundate the nation but were dismissed as alarmists. We warned that the nation had moved into a state of war, and that its people must be mobilized accordingly – the warnings were disregarded, even as slaughter surmounted slaughter, entire communities wiped out, and the battle began to strike into the very heart of governance, but all we obtained in return was moaning, whining and hand-wringing up and down the rungs of leadership and governance. But enough of recriminations – at least for now. Later, there must be full accounting.

Finally, Stephen Davis also mentions a Boko Haram financier within the Nigerian Central Bank. Independently we are able to give backing to that claim, even to the extent of naming the individual. In the process of our enquiries, we solicited the help of a foreign embassy whose government, we learnt, was actually on the same trail, thanks to its independent investigation into some money laundering that involved the Central Bank. That name, we confidently learnt, has also been passed on to President Jonathan. When he is ready to abandon his accommodating policy towards the implicated, even the criminalized, an attitude that owes so much to re-election desperation, when he moves from a passive “letting the law to take its course” to galvanizing the law to take its course, we shall gladly supply that name.

EFCC Discovered $50m In Account Of PDP's Jarrett Tenebe

The Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) admitted it has arrested and detained Jarrett Tenebe, a gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). SaharaReporters learned from sources at the commission that $50million has been found in an account belonging to him.

The saga of PDP’s hopeful in Edo state continued on September 12, 2014, Friday, as new information has been leaked by some of the investigators. According to them, $50 million (N8,143,459,000) found in Mr. Tenebe’s account were a leftover of deposits from the illegal sale of crude oil abroad through Saltpond Oil platform.

In an attempt to clear the air on the initial report the commission issued a press statement. It challenged the story on the grounds that the information did not emanate from its spokesman.

“For the benefit of members of the public who may have been misled by the attributions, all information emanating from the EFCC to the media are authenticated by the designated official spokesperson, which is not the case with this report.”

The EFCC failed to explain why Mr. Tenebe was arrested and put under investigation for close to one week without making the information public or charging the suspect to court.
Even then, the EFCC kept the arrest under wraps until story appeared.

“The agency (EFCC) refused to make his arrest public as pressure mounted by Tenebe’s accomplices within the Nigerian government and the PDP party hierarchy,”  an anti-corruption activist familiar with Tenebe’s arrest said.

READ ALSO:

It would be recalled that information on Tenebe’s arrest by the EFCC emerged on Thursday. Investigators also reported about the involvement of several senior government officials and top politicians, including Mike Oghiadomhe, a former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Tony Anenih, the Chairman of the board of trustees of the PDP and the Minister of Petroleum resources, Diezani Alison Madueke.

Insurgency: Nigerian Soldier Narrates Ordeal

A Nigerian soldier (name withheld) involved in the war against the dreaded terrorists group, Boko Haram in Maiduguri, Borno State capital on Friday revealed that the sect will continue to thrive because of the happenings in the Nigerian army.images (13) images (14) images (15)

Vanguard reports that the soldier in an email sent to them, said he is attached to the Multinational Joint Task Force located in KauKirie Section 3 Baga, insisted that the army lacks modern equipment to fight terrorists, and pointed out saboteurs among others as factors stalling the fight.

The soldier who said he joined the Nigerian army less than three years ago with the purpose of defending Nigerian territory and sovereignty against both external and internal aggression warned that more soldiers will continue to desert the army due to low morale.

Giving account of their battle with Boko Haram, the soldier said after six months training, troops were drafted to Maiduguri to engage insurgents. He said he was initially enthusiastic about fight the bloodsucking demons that have caused innocent Nigerians pains without a just course.  He said not quite long in Borno, himself and his colleagues realized that they were in a different army from the one they thought they had joined, because it was highly politicised, demoralised, lacks discipline and did not weapons to fight.

He therefore listed some of the major challenges hindering their operations to include lack of intelligence gathering and increasing cases of saboteurs in during assault. He recalled an incidence when their driver refused to take a particular route that we ordered to ply; he said they did not argue when he took the decision, which was what saved their lives as they found out the next day that terrorists had laid ambush waiting for them. He said the militants angrily killed every civilian that passed that route on that day after waiting for them.

The soldier further revealed that on July 31, 2014, Boko Haram attacked their camps, killed two of the colleagues, set the camp ablaze, while 19 soldiers were declared missing. He said all the soldiers ran away from the scene, before they were later rescued by Chadian soldiers.

According to him, seven soldiers came back to base while 12 were confirmed dead.

“As I write this, their corpses have not been recovered. In fact, they were left unburied and left to decompose like animals” he said.

He said the incidence killed the morale of soldiers, which had resulted to increased deserters every day. He said those of them yet to desert were surviving by the grace of Almighty God. He said bullets are rationed to soldiers to go and fight highly equipped terrorists with state of the art weapons. He said his gun and that of some other soldiers had locked severally in battlefield, and noted that political leaders and Military hierarchy were gambling with the lives of soldiers.

READ ALSO:

“They are just sacrificing our lives for nothing. On several occasions, when we go for operations and come under heavy attacks, when we call for reinforcement, there will not be any, and if they decide to send, it takes several hours if not days.  We have been having problem with intelligence gathering since we came here.  It is absolutely difficult to use non-Northerner for intelligence gathering because of unwillingness of the indigenes to cooperate” he said.

The soldier said most of his colleagues from the area are sympathetic to Boko Haram, and stated that the terrorists may continue to have the upper hand in the war because of the operational problems he had earlier mentioned.

Meanwhile, the unknown soldier revelation is contrary to the statement issued by Col.Timothy Antigha of the Nigerian Army Public Relations Directorate, who claimed that the soldiers morale were very high.

It would be recalled that on August 20, 2014, BBC reported that Nigerian soldiers were nolonger willing to risk their lives in the fight against the dreaded Boko Haram sects until they are provided with better and more sophisticated equipments, while the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.- Gen. Kenneth Minimah had earlier revealed that some soldiers had abandoned the force over fear of  being killed by Boko Haram.

According to reports, an unidentified number of people were injured and they have been taken to a hospital.

The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Gabriel Aduda, reportedly said:

“Whatever happened here, the devil is a liar. No weapon fashioned against us and Jonathan shall succeed. What happened was because the crowd was too much.”

However, the event was said to have continued after alternative seating arrangements were made for the guests.

Scorpion headed straight to Akpors’ corner and landed him a THUNDEROUS SLAP” GBOOOOAAAAAAA”. Akpors was having a serious quarrel with his girlfriend one day, angrily he ordered “go pack all your clothes and…” he got interrupted by her ringing phone. She picked and put it on loud speaker because she was furious and pacing up and down; it was her elder brother in the UK saying he has paid £300,000 to her account and instructed her to withdraw £100,000 for her boyfriend. She thanked her brother and hung up, then she turned to her boyfriend Akpors and said ‘go ahead, you were saying I should pack my things?’
Akpors: Hehehe, my love, I was saying that I don’t like the fact we were quarreling, and that you should pack your things and give them to me so I’ll wash everything for you.
