Arsene Wenger criticises work permits

Arsene Wenger has called on a restructuring of the current Premier League work permit regulations after revealing they prevented him from signing Angel di Maria as a teenager, reports Football411.

The Gunners are currently working on a deal for Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista, although the fact he is not an international footballer means they may end up missing out on the signing of the Villarreal centre-back.

And Wenger has revealed the same issue thwarted Arsenal's attempts to bring Argentina international Di Maria to north London when he was a 17-year-old, and the French tactician is hopeful a change in rules can soon be implemented.

Wenger said: "Ideally it would open completely and anyone can come in.

"We had identified Di Maria when he was 17. We saw him in an international competition and we wanted him to come here, but he went to Portugal and then to Spain. Why? Because he could not get a work permit for England.

"What does it mean if he comes into the country anyway, later on? It means you can only get him to England once he is worth a huge amount of money and who do you pay this huge amount of money to?

"It goes to a club like Real Madrid and they don't need the money. We have to be conscious of that."

There has, however, been a new rule proposed which would see any player who costs over £10m automatically granted permission to work in the UK.

Paulista’s Arsenal move is 50-50’

London - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expressed cautious optimism over his side's move for Villarreal's Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Paulista on Thursday, describing the transfer as "50-50".

Arsenal v Burnley: match preview

It does not get any easier for Burnley as they chase their first victory of the season, even if Arsenal are, by Arsène Wenger’s admission, struggling to find their rhythm this season. Burnley have scored only five goals in nine league games and they are likely to adopt a familiar defensive approach, in order to retain a puncher’s chance. The onus is all on Arsenal to find the way through Burnley. They are desperate to find consistency. David Hytner

Why Danny Welbeck is Dat Guy

When Danny Welbeck arrived at Emirates at the end of August, ready to embark on what has already been a hugely encouraging Gunners career, he arrived with the phrase ‘Welbz is dat guy’ fizzing around social media.

The derivation of the phrase? Nobody seemed to know, well almost nobody - the man himself was well aware where it came from and was only too happy to reveal all.

"It started when Ravel Morrison tweeted it [in February 2013] and everyone just cottoned on to it. It’s a bit of slang in Manchester," said Danny, who was with his home town club United from the age of eight.

"Growing up, if you do something people often say, ‘he’s dat guy’. I think I scored a goal and Rav tweeted ‘Welbz is dat guy’ but it could be anything - dat guy could be anyone. It’s hard to explain!

"In high school, " continues the 23 year-old, "people used to say it all the time, a teacher can be ‘dat guy’ if you don’t like him! But it is usually used in a complimentary way. Not many of the guys have used it at Arsenal yet, although Ox has joked around saying it a few times. I didn’t realise it would be such a big thing on the internet!"

With a superb opening goal for the Gunners against Aston Villa, followed by a stunning hat-trick against Galatasaray which drew comparisons with the great Thierry Henry, ‘dat guy’ has taken little time to make his mark at Arsenal Football Club.

WARNING:- This Article is for matured audience only with great sense of humor, Fnn doesn’t Intend to make fun of dead people.

Arsenal Emirates Stadium 1024x682 TRAGIC: 4 Arsenal Fans Commit Suic!de Over Danny Welbeck Transfer

Unanticipated reports filtering from the Emirates stadium allege that Four Arsenal fans have just committed suicide this night.

According to the club management, initial reports from the police states that they are not suspecting any foul play after observing the scenes and series of events preceding the time the unspeakable acts took place.

All four acts took place between 6:25 – 6:30pm (local time) which is just after Arsenal’s announced the signing of Welbeck from Manchester United.

FNN was able to speak with an Arsenal fan, and he said: “I am not surprised they killed themselves, very few people can suffer for eight years and watch their only hope for salvage disappear, we all know the drill, Welbeck is shit …he scored less than 5 goals last season..we already have Sanogo we dont need another now.” .

“Even if we don’t win the EPL, it is not the end of the world, we can still clinch 4th place, so we call on our fans to have faith…RIP Goners!!” The club’s official handle tweeted in reaction to the news.

In order to curb recurrence of such, the police and FNN call on families and friends of die hard Arsenal Fans to keep close watch on them during the transfer deadline, even as we pray that Welbeck Fails his medicals and await more details on the status of his transfer.
