TB Joshua releases new footage of Synagogue building collapse

Untitled (1)Just received this article from freelance journalist, Ihechukwu Njoku. He wrote it. Apparently there's new footage showing the building collapse that killed 115 people. Find it below...
Maintaining his controversial stand that the tragic collapse of a building at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) was an ‘attack’, T.B. Joshua has released new security footage of the incident through Emmanuel TV’s official YouTube channel. The new footage from a security camera stationed in the church premises shows the bottom of the building as people walk innocently around the environment. Suddenly, a huge plume of smoke is seen coming from the side of the building, bystanders running for dear life as the collapse occurs in mere seconds.

A still picture at the end of the shocking footage shows the extent of the disaster with ‘floors piled on top of each other’. Through a Facebook post, the embattled cleric reiterated that, while co-operating with the ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal collapse, “The church views this tragedy as part of an attack on The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations.” The SCOAN had earlier warned media not to pre-empt the investigation with ‘unconfirmed stories’ that ‘give the impression the collapse was due to structural failure’.

No contravention notice was served on our building before it collapsed - Synagogue

BxViaEuCMAAGEDj

The Synagogue Church this evening denied online reports that the collapsed 6-storey building was at one time sealed by the Lagos state government and a contravention notice served on the church. Below is a statement they posted on their Facebook page...

This is an official communication from The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations regarding some stories currently being reported in the media about the recent incident that happened in The SCOAN.

Our attention has been drawn to a publication in the Vanguard Newspaper of 26th September 2014 titled, ‘Synagogue: We Sealed Off Building Before Collapse – LSBCA’.

In the article, the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, Mrs Abimbola Animashahun Odunayo was quoted as saying that the agency had sealed off the building before it collapsed and that the church ignored the warnings of the agency to stop construction. The story was initially published by online media portal News24.

We deem it necessary to state that the above publication is not true in that:
1. No contravention notice was served on the church before the collapse because there was no reason for the issuance of such notices.
2. The building had never been sealed off for any reason whatsoever before the collapse of 12th September, 2014.
3. At no time was any stop-work notice or directive served on the church or pasted on the building prior to 12th September, 2014.

We however wish to state that the letters that were written to the church by LSBCA were written after the collapse of 12/09/14 in the following order:

1. A letter dated 16/09/2014 Ref No. LASBCA/AL/PCA/DH/01 requesting for the submission of a development permit and approval of structures within the church complex, four days after the building collapsed.
2. A contravention notice dated 17/09/2014 Ref No. AL/LASBCA/DH/PCA/CN 06 alleging certain contraventions, five days after the building collapsed.
3. A letter dated 17/09/14 Ref No. AL/LASBCA/DH/PCA/CN 06 requesting for non-destructive tests for structural stability, five days after the building collapsed.

It must be noted that no sealing or quit notice has been served as the building never called for such.

In the above circumstances, we would like to believe that LSBCA has been quoted out of context with the motive of destroying the ongoing investigation into the case as well as casting doubt on the position of the church that the collapse was due to an attack.

Our attention was also drawn to a publication in Nigeria’s Guardian Newspaper of Friday 26th September 2014 titled, ‘Early Probe Report Indicates Compromise In Synagogue Building.’

The article quoted the Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Lagos State, Mr Toyin Ayinde, as saying that one of the columns or pillars of the collapsed building in the church measured 2 feet by 2 feet and that the reinforcement used for the same was 16mm.

This publication is also misleading and untrue. There is no doubt that it was calculated to give the impression that the collapse was due to structural defects as against the position of the church to the contrary.

We hereby request all the involved parties to take the necessary steps towards correcting such dangerous misinformation so as not to mislead the entire country and the international community.

We also urge the media to take necessary steps towards avoiding the publication of unconfirmed stories in future.

We should not pre-empt and interfere with the ongoing investigation.

SCOAN Blasts Nigerian Media Over Incorrect Reports

Since the six-storey guest house inside the church’s premises collapsed as additional floors were added to the original 2 storey building, the Nigerian news media has been agog with various reports concerning the unfortunate incident.

The Nigerian news media in a bid to do its work has fed fat on this incident, shedding more light into what really went wrong. First, a journalist, Nicholas Ibekwe, came out with a recorded voice-note proof claiming that the the overseer of the SCOAN mission, Prophet T. B. Joshua offered journalists N50,000 bribe in which he turned down.s2XYgaTIyxalG2v3QFz2Nnpn

Another was that the building was sealed off by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LSBCA) a body that which regulates and also concerned with buildings and structures in Lagos state, before the unfortunate incident. The list of updates on this incident is endless.

Journalist Nicholas Ibekwe this afternoon shared audio proof of T.B Joshua offering journalists (who are covering the building collapse) N50,000 to ‘fuel’ their cars after he met with them behind close doors at his church premises. After giving them the money, he asked them what they planned to write and some of them said whatever he wants them to write. He asked them to talk about the people who were rescued/survived and not focus on the people who died.

SCOAN Collapse Is Just Human Sacrifice - Ghanaian Pastor

A Ghana-based pastor has claimed that the recent loss of lives in a guest house of the Synagogue Church that collapsed one week ago could be due to the TB Joshua’s quest for promotion in the spiritual realm.

Video of Synagogue Building collapsing and ‘Strange Airplane’ Allegedly Behind it

This article was written by journalist Ihechukwu Njoku, who reports for The Synogogue Church of All Nations. Looks like the church is blaming the building collapse on a strange airplane.Untitled-5

They shared an eerie video purportedly showing a plane flying over the building before it collapsed. Read Njoku’s report below and watch the video.

On Sunday 14th April 2014, Prophet T.B. Joshua played to his congregation and Emmanuel TV viewers worldwide shocking footage captured by security cameras of the horrific moment a guest-house collapsed within the church premises.

Joshua, speaking to a packed auditorium of worshippers seemingly undeterred by the tragic incident that transpired days earlier, began by thanking officials involved in the extensive rescue operation, as well as supporters worldwide for their prayers.” Continue..

He then recounted the events that preceded the building collapse at exactly 12:44pm on Friday afternoon. â€Å“I know this is not the right time to talk,” the cleric started. â€Å“I will just say a little because I don’t want to interfere with the job of security personnel.”

Joshua narrated how on Friday morning at approximately 8am, he left the ‘prayer mountain’  where he ‘lives’ to return to the church, only to be alerted by phone that â€Å“there was a jet hovering, moving around at very close range at the mountain which I had just left.”

Shortly afterwards, he was informed the plane in question was flying dangerously low over a particular building within the church premises. â€Å“We are going to show you the video,” he then announced.

Church members reacted with gasps of shock and disbelief as a video containing security footage of the ‘strange airplane’ and its multiple flights was shown, followed by the building collapse in less than three seconds of horror.

Joshua went on to state that after thirty years residing in Ikotun, Lagos, he had never witnessed an incident of this nature. â€Å“This is to tell you we have a stable terrain in this area. I have been in this community for the past 30 years and no building has collapsed,” he insisted.

He went on to assure congregants that no effort was being spared in rescuing the victims of the tragedy. â€Å“As a minister of the Gospel, our first priority is life – life saving,” he stated.â€Å“There is no compromise in what we do at all. I am going to leave this for you to judge.”

He then released a warning that another similar incident would occur within the country if proper precautions were not observed. â€Å“Let us believe, educate our people and be alert. Why? So that our country will not witness a similar incident in another place.”

Seeming to speak the minds of congregants, Joshua went on, â€Å“I know you will ask me – why Synagogue? Don’t forget the spiritual blessing that God has bestowed on us? A big head wears a large hat.”

He proceeded to decry the attitude people had exhibited towards a much-publicised confession of an alleged Boko Haram member in The SCOAN in March 2014. â€Å“No matter how long a lie is sustained, truth will someday prevail,” the cleric admonished. â€Å“We should remember the militant that came with his group to this church with a bomb. Upon televising it, they said it was a lie – but later discovered it to be true. The case is still with the security.”

He added that the multiple rumours peddled about Ebola victims dying at The SCOAN and the alleged ‘salt-water’ cure ascribed to him that went viral were all attacks against the church. â€Å“They were trying to scare you from coming to this church. Don’t be scared – you are not the target, I am the target.”

Joshua stated however that his ‘job’ on earth was still unfinished. â€Å“I knew my hour had not yet come. I have not yet finished my job.”

He reminded congregants of a message he had given several weeks earlier that the last few months of 2014, which he had already termed ‘The Year Of Crossing The Bridge’, would contain tragic and calamitous events as if ‘it were 10 years’. He declared that in the midst of the unfortunate incident, â€Å“God is on top of the matter”.

Joshua then stated that Divine judgement would befall the perpetrators of the attack. â€Å“I want to assure you that our God will get back to them – the agents of satan,” he authoritatively declared.

Joshua went on to shock congregants the more by reading out a message he had received concerning another foiled Boko Haram plot against The SCOAN. â€Å“Man of God, my name is Emmanuel,” the message stated. â€Å“I have a confession to make. I want to give my life to Jesus Christ. I am a Boko Haram member. I came to SCOAN to plant a bomb but could not do it because of the God who called you. I went back to Jos with the bomb which I still have with me now.”

“The reason I am showing you this is for you to know the God you are serving,” Joshua explained. â€Å“God wants to reveal to you what He has been doing that you don’t know about,”he continued, adding that he knows ‘faithless’ attendees may likely stop visiting his church.

Joshua concluded by saluting the ‘martyrs’ who lost their lives in the tragic incident, describing them as people of faith who ‘knew the God they are serving’.

He insisted that truth would prevail amidst the conflicting reports arising concerning the cause of the building’s collapse. â€Å“Right from the beginning of my life, people have been lying but they still come back to the truth. That is a good life – for people to lie against you first before they realise the truth. Here I am – I leave it for you to judge. I am a prophet. The security have a job to do.”

Photos: Survivors of TB Joshua’s Church building Collapse Rejoice and Praise God

On Friday September 12th, a building inside the Synagogue Church of all Nation suddenly collapsed and according to NEMA officials, 17 people died while 120 people were rescued alive.1-13In this new report, Ihechukwu Njoku, a freelance journalist (who writes a lot for SCOAN) who visited the scene of the tragic incident writes about what he saw and how many people ‘miraculously survived’ the building collapse. Continue to see what he wrote and what some survivors told him

00-61

Thank You, Jesus”, a cry rang out from an onlooker, followed by a burst of relieved applause from the crowd of church helpers and rescue workers. They had been working non-stop since the giant building was reduced to rubble in a matter of seconds the previous day.

From a tiny hole at the far side of the wreckage, a body was being brought out. â€Å“She’s alive,” a man beside me reassured. Straining to look closer, I saw the woman, who was being stretchered toward an awaiting ambulance, waving her hands. â€Å“God of T.B. Joshua, you are wonderful,” the rescued lady exclaimed, her voice extraordinarily strong. She had been in the dark, under the rubble for over 24 hours.

“Bros,” I overheard a worker confiding in his colleague, â€Å“if not for God, no one should be brought out alive from there.” It was hard to disagree with his sentiment looking at the mangled remains of what was a six-storey building nearing completion.

“They’ve found another one,” a cry excitedly broke my musing, another cheer reverberating among onlookers. Despite the tragedy, the spirit of camaraderie was warming to behold. A small child was being brought out of the wreckage alive. â€Å“Wait,” one of the rescue team cautioned. â€Å“Her mother is still inside.” Moments later, mother and daughter were reunited.

“One thing you have to understand,” an official of Nigeria’s Emergency Management Association (NEMA) official told me on the condition of anonymity, â€Å“90% of those being rescued were eating or working the bottom floor of the building when it collapsed.” He shook his head in disbelief. â€Å“How they survived beats my imagination.”“The situation could have turned out much worse,” another member of the rescue team named Sunday corroborated. â€Å“If not for God, we could be talking of over 100 fatalities.”3-22

I made my way toward one of the ambulances preparing to leave, hoping to catch a glimpse of another survivor. A man in his late 40s lay there, wet with sweat, bruised and breathing heavily. The discussion I overhead was poignant. â€Å“Was I really in that building,” he faintly questioned the nurse as she held his hand. â€Å“Thank your God,” she quietly replied. â€Å“We should call your name miracle.”

During a three-hour visit to The SCOAN, I witnessed no fewer than 30 people brought out of the wreckage through the concerted efforts of the rescue teams. All were alive.”

I hear you Ihechukwu but all these could have been avoided if they hadn’t tried to raise a 2-storey building to five. According to NEMA spokesman, the building (a guest house) was originally a two storey building and SCOAN was trying to raise it to five.
â€Å“The additional three was being constructed when it collapsed around 1p.m Friday afternoon. The church members have been very aggressive and tried attacking emergency responders.” NEMA spokesperson said yesterday.2-12 5-3 6-2 7-2 0-12

Hmmmm!!! Synagogue Did Not Allow To Us Save Lives — NEMA

The two storey building was being remodeled with extra three three floors being added.

NEMA said:“The church members attacked us,”. “First responders ran away for their own safety. I don’t know what they’re hiding, they said they are capable of handling the situation but they doing a shoddy job of it. People are still trapped in the rubble.

“If we were allowed to work we would have worked all night but the safety of the emergency responders comes first. If they can attack us in the day, there is no knowing what they would do at night.”

According to TheNation, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, Friday Adeboayo,  had revealed the number of dead to be around, adding that rescue operations to evacuate the injured persons would go on.

At the same time, Punch put the number of the deceased to 50.

The six-storey building collapsed due to yet-to-be identified reasons. This building serves as a guest house for people travelling from far and for foreign visitors of the Synagogue Church, however, it has not been fully completed yet.

The collapse occurred after 12 in the afternoon. The total number of people present at the building at the time of the tragedy is controversial, ranging from 70 to 200. The possible victims include foreign believers, church members, canteen and construction workers.

At least 7 ambulances have arrived the scene almost immediately. Passers-by and drivers were reportedly helping to evacuate the victims to hospitals.

A military helicopter was seen hovering above the area shortly after the collapse. Strong police presence reported by multiple eyewitnesses as well.

According to SaharaReproters, Church security staff behaved in an aggressive way, attacked reporters of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and broke their camera. Work of the officials of the Nigerian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been also disrupted. One of the possible reasons is that the administration of the Church might have tried to cover up the real cause of the collapse and its scale.

This development caused pandemonium in the area and heavy traffic for those who were heading to Ikotun from Ejigbo, Mushin and related directions.

Three Stories Of Former Boko Haram Members

The first thing that today is associated with Boko Haram is terrorism. During its existence this group has earned a bad reputation due to the use of violence as a basic tool of its activities. The methods used by members of Boko Haram are very severe and require specific psychological qualities of the members. Not everyone is able to intimidate, kidnap and slaughter innocent people… This group has a strict discipline, and we can only guess how many members in Boko Haram remain silent and continue to do horrible things on the path of death.

However, we can recall some famous cases when Boko Haram members broke free from being brainwashed and left this sect. NAIJ.com recalls three different stories of such people.

1. Nasir Isiaku

boko_haram_fugitive.jpg

The shocking confession of this man happened about 13 months ago, in August 2013. Nasir has reportedly after spending 3 years with Boko Haram.

From confessions published by TheSun we learned that the 27-year-old men used to belong to one of the 6 major gangs of the sect called Shiite. This division has its members in such states as Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Zamfara, among others.

Apart from physical training Boko Haram commanders conduct extensive psychological training for the members in order to boost their readiness to fight.

In his words: “We were told that the more we kill the Christians, the greater will be our chances to enter the paradise of God. At the same time, our command referred to the Koran.

“Originally we were going to kill all the Christians in Kaduna and then kill those who live in the north.”

According to Isiaku, before each operation gang members drank “spiritual water” and, as a result, they become especially furious and could easily kill anyone, without much thinking. The sect members are convinced that this potion protects them from bullets.

“I do not remember how many people I killed. We shot in the legs and asked the victims if they would like to become a Muslim. When a person said “no”, we cut his throat like a goat. After the murder of a non-believer, we collected his blood and drank it. We believe that in this case, the spirits of the murdered will not come to haunt us in a dream. If we had no desire to drink blood, we only dipped fingers in it and then put them into mouths,” Nasir admitted.

When asked how he became a Christian, Isiaku told about “a man dressed in white” who appeared in his dream after which he decided to change his faith.

In his speech the former Muslim send a warning message for all the Christians, saying terrorists are determined to exterminate all the ‘infidels’ in Nigeria, not limiting to any particular area:

“I sincerely advise Christians to begin to prepare for war, to arm and “tighten their belts.” The Islamist terrorist sects are ready to go to war.”

2. Mustapha

The video message released by Emmanuel TV, run by Prophet T.B.Joshua, shocked thousands of Nigeria about 5 months ago. A of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) causing uproar.

He introduced himself as Mustapha from Yola, Adamawa State and confessed of being a Boko Haram member. The person continued his speech by explaining their plan on camera:

“We were five in number. We dropped at the junction opposite the church. There was a man who used to sell something opposite the church here. He is selling sweets, soap and cigarettes. I met the man and asked him to help me keep the bag I was carrying. It contained some instruments – bombs, to kill people.

“Later, we decided to sit down and eat before going on our mission here. Our plan was to take souls, to destroy at this Synagogue Church.”

However, whilst sitting down to eat with his colleagues at a restaurant opposite the popular church in Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, Mustapha recounted a strange incident.

“They brought food for us and we were eating. At that place, they had television. We were watching the television and discussing. It was Emmanuel TV – I saw you (T.B. Joshua) preaching to people.

“By the time you prayed and laid hands on the screen, it was like you were there with us and you joined our midst. As you laid your hands on the screen, you laid your hands on our face. That was when confusion came between us; everybody scattered.”

This prompted Mustafa to come and make this confession.

After Mustapha’s words Joshua prayed and the young man fell to the floor. As he got up slowly from the floor, tears were in Mustapha’s.

“The spirit leading him to kill is gone,” Joshua declared to applause from the onlookers. The curse of Boko Haram has been removed from the man.

3. Hosea Bulus

The SCOAN about 2 months later. At the end of the service held at T.B.Joshua’s church a “aggressive young man” stood forward and said:

“I am one of the Boko Haram. They said they would give me N2,000,000 if I blow up a church. Every church would be N2,000,000. They said they would give me a big house and a wife.”

When he was asked why he had come to the church, the man said: “I have listened to T.B. Joshua – that is why I am here.”

Moments later T.B. Joshua himself returned to the congregation and said he had heard the confession, called that “mind-boggling”.
The famous pastor continued the query and asked the man, who identified himself as Hosea Bulus, how he initiated into the group, to which he replied: “They gave me blood; they gave me charms. I took it inside food.” He added that after this the urge to kill and destroy entered him.

Addressing the congregation regarding T.B. Joshua said:

“One thing you must know – we are fighting evil spirits that steal, kill and destroy. Let us not fight with our neighbours. We have Muslim brothers and sisters. They are our neighbours. We live together and work together.”

According to the prophet, the problem is not about Muslims and Christians, but about “evil spirit”, saying that no one could bring himself to killing innocent lives without being under the influence of an ‘evil spirit’.

T.B. Joshua finally stated that he would not ask the man any further questions publicly so as not to undermine the intelligence Hosea would be able to provide to the relevant authorities. Then the man of God prayed for Hosea, who fell to his knees.

These stories shook the community. One may believe them or not. The thing which remains undoubtful is the morale that they carry. These episodes showed that many in the Boko Haram sect do not agree to continue to do evil. And the fact that Nazir, Mustafa and Hosea wanted to say about this publicly and furthermore do so in front of Christians indicates a serious need for repentance for their anti-human activities in Boko Haram.

TB Joshua’s ‘Anointing Sticker’ Saved Me – Survivor Of Boko Haram Attack

According to a Nigerian Journalist, Ihechukwu Njoku, the survivor, Omereji Friday, a Rivers State indigene who was present at the scene of the bloody onslaught, attributes his own survival to divine protection.

Speaking at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday 31stAugust 2014, the mobile police officer explained that he was stationed in Nasarawa State when informed that a training exercise was to be conducted in Gwoza, Borno State.

Friday, who spoke in pidgin English during his testimony, said his wife had warned him of the dangers caused by the sect but wasn’t really bothered saying: “We quarrelled in the house and she told me if I did not go to Synagogue Church first, there would be trouble,” he explained to the congregation.

Friday, said he reluctantly decided to do the wish of his wife as he visited T.B. Joshua’s renowned church in Lagos before his journey to Gwoza.

Arriving in Lagos late on Sunday 17th August 2014, church activities at The SCOAN were about to cease. “I met one young man from South Sudan and introduced myself as a Nigerian police officer.

“He gave me the ‘Anointing Sticker’ which he was with and I put it in my pocket,” he continued.

Friday said his wife insisted that keeps the ‘sticker’ which bore the message ‘Let love lead’ around his neck next to his ID card.

Arriving at the military camp in Gwoza on Monday heavily armed, two days of training exercises were conducted hitch-free. “On Wednesday, our ‘oga’ told us to go and drop our arms and ammunition at a certain place before the exercise.”

According to Omereji, the policemen saw a helicopter hovering over their area on an apparent surveillance mission later on that day. They reported to their seniors but were told not to be alarmed.

It was when the training exercise of that day was concluded and the policemen were back in their lodging that Boko Haram militants struck.

Friday narrating his horrific ordeal said: “Suddenly, they called us to grab our guns. If you see how rain used to fall, that was how the bullets were falling. The person next to me was hit by a bullet and died in my presence. I fell down and began crawling. Our dormitory caught fire. Five armoured tanks were approaching with sophisticated weapons.”

“I began to shout, ‘God of T.B. Joshua, where are you? Come and save me.’ ” Bullets were raining around him but surprisingly none hit.

“I crawled to the high wall of the camp. I saw an officer attempting to climb over hit by a bullet and die instantly.” The wall was higher than an ordinary jump could reach by human capacity. “As I prayed, I jumped and don’t know what pushed me up over the wall.”

“It was a warfront. I was the only person I know of who survived this Boko Haram attack,” he soberly concluded. “This Anointing Sticker is powerful!”

In his comments, T.B. Joshua reiterated his previous assertion that Boko Haram was the challenge of Nigeria and not Ebola.  He further warned that infiltration from foreign militants had already occurred within Boko Haram, hence their sophisticated weaponry.

Gwoza, Borno state has been under several attacks by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

On August 20, it was reported that following Boko Haram’s attack on mobile police training school, Gwoza, that about 35 policemen were still missing.

It was reported, yesterday, that Boko Haram members now allegedly use captured police college as their training grounds and its instructors as teachers.

On August 24, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau in video message released by the press announced Gwoza a celiphate with claims the sects are using the palace of the Emir of Gwoza as their headquarters.

Latest reports is that the Nigerian military are fighting to reclaim Gwoza, Borno state and 14 surrounding villages from the insurgents.  Althoght there is reportedly strong resistance from  the sect who allegedly blocked access roads to the town making the troops launch “fierce attacks”.
