BREAKING: Abducted Chibok Girls Released, Defence HQ retracts statement

It was earlier reported that an unidentified number of the abducted Chibok girls have been released by Boko Haram sect. The Defence Headquarters however says it is no longer sure if the girls were rescued.

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has reportedly retracted an earlier statement alledgely confirming the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls today, September 23, 2014.

According to reports, a number of the Chibok girls who were kidnapped from Borno state on April 14, 2014 have been released.

A top military source confirmed to Premium Times that two buses filled with the released girls were driven into theMaimalari Barracks in Maiduguri today, September 23, 2014.

The girls’ release is also said to have been confirmed by the spokesperson for the Defence Headquarters, Chris Olukolade.

Olukolade reportedly stated that the exercise is still ongoing and an official statement would soon be released.

It is unbelievable. It sounds strange, though this is not the first time such would be happening. Each time the incident occurs, it sounds untrue. But it has happened again and there is a living being serving as a confirmation. A bouncing baby boy named Moses Okiki Bolutiwatife. The ‘it’ is incest committed by a 42-year-old Segun Oderinde against his 16-year-old daughter (name withheld)The name, Boluwatife, means ‘As God wills’, but is it really the will of God for a man to sire a child through his own biological daughter? Okiki also means ‘fame’ but is it this kind of fame the little baby would have wished himself? This is the strange thing that has happened in the Oderinde family in GboroCompound, Igbeti, Olorunsogo Local Government area of Oyo State. Crime Reports learnt that Oderinde and the mother of his daughter, one Funmilayo (37), divorced each other 13 years ago when the girl was just three years old. The young girl was in her mother’s custody until when September 2013 when Oderinde insisted on taking his daughter into custody. Not only that, he insisted that his daughter should be sleeping in the same room with him. Things however took a turn, according to reports, when on December 25, 2013, the teenager’s sleep was rudely interrupted by her father who came home drunk at about 1 a.m. asked her to get up. The girl’s eyes widened withshockand fear when her father brashly told her to remove her dress. As expected, the girl refused her father’s abnormal command but quickly complied when she saw him brandishing a well-sharpened, glittering cutlass, with a threat to sever her head in a jiffy if she was not fast in obeying hisinstruction. He succeeded in having sexual intercourse with her, albeit forcefully. Unable to comprehend her father’s action, the girl reported the incident to one of her stepmothers, who promised to find out if her claim was true. Whether the woman asked her husband or not, the girl did not know. Her ordeal however continued when the man had sex with her again in March and April 2014, unknown to her that she was already pregnant with the first encounter. When she started feeling weak by the end of April, she was said to have been taken to Ronke Clinic, Igbeti, by her stepmother who is a nurse and was confirmed to be pregnant by one Mrs Elizabeth Aremu. The proprietress of the clinic reportedly informed the girl’s father and her paternal grandfather of the result of the pregnancy test carried out on the girl and her confession which indicted her father. Oderinde was said to have denied the allegation and started maltreating his daughter until the case was reported at the Igbeti Division of Oyo State Police Command on April 30, 2014

When the report was received, The Divisional Police Officer, Mr Oyelere Ishola, was said to have taken the girl to General Hospital, Igbeti where the pregnancy was re-confirmed. She was referred to a diagnostic centre to ascertain the duration of the pregnancy, and the ultrasound scan done at one Bethsaida Hospital, Igbeti on May 1, 2014 indicated that the girl was four months and two weeks pregnant. She was given the second week of September 2014 as the expected delivery date. Crime Reports further learnt that the DPO and the Divisional Crime Officer had to take it upon themselves to register the teenager for ante-natal care at the General Hospital and while investigation was ongoing, Oderinde, who had initially denied having carnal knowledge of his daughter, confessed to have committed the act but denied impregnating his daughter. Based on the confession, Crime Reports gathered that on May 30, the incestuous man was arraigned inMagistrate Court, Kisi on charge number MKS/8C/2014 on a three-count charge including rape. He was thereafter remanded in prison custody. The teenager was reported to have delivered a healthy baby boy on September 9, 2014 and on September 16, the baby was named Moses Okiki Boluwatife Oderinde. This means that Oderinde is the father and grandfather of his daughter’s baby! Speaking with Crime Reports from her mother’s house where she had been staying since she was discharged from hospital, the teenage mother narrated her story thus: “I was living with my mother until 2013 when my father asked me to come and live with him. On December 25, 2013, my father woke me up and asked to remove my clothes but I refused. He drew a cutlass and threatened to kill me if I did not do his bidding. Afraid, I removed my clothes and he forcefully had sex with me. He was the first man to sleep with me because I had never had sex before then. “The following day, I reported to one of his two wives who was a nurse and she promised to ask him, but I don’t know whether she eventually did. In March, 2014, he did the same thing again and I ran to his second wife’s house and reported to her. She asked me to swear to an oath with a bible but I refused since I knew I was saying the truth. I started sleeping in her apartment. “In April, he came to tell me to return to his apartment to do some things for him but I refused to go. His wife however put pressure on me to answer my father’s call since he wanted me to do some things for him at home. I followed him after much pressure. “Unfortunately for me, on Saturday preceding Easter celebration, precisely on April 18, he had sex with me again. All the while, I did not know I was pregnant.  I had my last menstruation in December 2013. “My stepmother suspected I was pregnant and took me to one Mrs Aremu who confirmed the pregnancy. The case was reported at the police station and I started living with my paternal grandfather until I fell into labour. My mother wanted the pregnancy to be aborted but the doctor said he could not do it. “After I was delivered of the baby and my grandfather was told that the baby has a striking resemblance with my father, he ran away and has not been seen since then. “Since the confirmation of the pregnancy, the DPO and the DCO were the ones who purchased baby things and other items that I would need during and after delivery. They also paid my hospital bill. I now stay with my mother and she is helping me to take care of the baby.” The girl appealed to members of the public to come to her aid so that her education would not be stalled. “I want to return to school. Mum drowned toddler son before jumping with older child to their deaths

A suicidal 24 year old mum drowned her 2-year-old son in their family home before going to a rock in Dartmoor and plunging 100ft to her death - with her five year old son on her back. Read the full story from the Mirror below...

Katherine Hooper and five-year-old son Joshua Patterson were killed when they fell between 80-100 feet from Lowman Tor at Haytor Rock on Dartmoor last July.

When police later went to her family home in Paignton, Devon, they discovered her youngest son Sam dead in a double bed.

An inquest at Torquay, Devon, heard that a suicide note was found by police hidden within a book on a shelf at her home. It was not dated but detectives believe it was written a couple of weeks before the tragic triple deaths.

A coroner has ruled that Kat, as she was known, killed herself but unlawfully killed Joshua. He returned an open verdict on toddler Sam.

The hearing was told after a Dutch holidaymaker sent police a photo which showed Kat and Joshua on the rock in the moments before they fell to their deaths.

And other foreign and local people saw the death fall and had witnessed Kat moving closer to the edge of the drop from the granite rock with Joshua having a ‘piggy back’ ride on his 24 year old mum’s back.

Kat and Joshua both died from multiple injuries, suffering head and neck wounds which rendered them unconscious before they died.

But a pathologist was unable to ascertain what killed Sam.

The South Devon coroner Ian Arrow said: "I am not certain that I can record drowning as his medical cause of death.”
Mr Arrow said Sam ‘probably died well before’ the day his mum and older brother fell to their deaths and he said Kat and Joshua had left their home ‘in a hurry’ after he died.

A Home Office forensic pathologist Dr Russell Delaney said Sam’s death was ‘suggestive of drowning but not diagnostic’.

He said there was no evidence that Sam had been smothered but a bath half full of water was found by police.



Detective Sergeant Andy James, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said on Friday, July 12th, police received reports from members of the public of two lifeless bodies being found at the bottom of Lowman Tor near Bovey Tracey, Devon.

He said people climbing on the famous Haytor Rock saw a woman with a young child which was not that unusual.

But he told the inquest: ”They seemed to be precariously close to the edge of the rock.”
He said one witness looked at them but felt they were intruding and although unnerved by the situation they ‘let them be’.

A German holidaymaker said Joshua was ‘on the back piggy back style walking slowly to the edge’ before sitting down.
They did not intervene because no one appreciated what was going to happen, he said.

The inquest heard from her father Peter Hooper, a Dartmoor builder, who said in his statement that his daughter was a ‘lovely, caring person’.

He said she met 52 year old Neil Patterson when she was 17 and had the two boys with him.
He said by Christmas 2012 ‘a little bit of the spark had gone’ from Kat and a week later she took an overdose of pills and went missing.

The two boys were taken into care and were returned to her two weeks later.

Mr Hooper said what happened in July was ‘a complete shock’ when she jumped off the rock killing Joshua and herself.
He said when he last spoke to her on the phone ‘she sounded alright’.

Police at the time said they know Kat and Joshua had left their home the day before their deaths and slept rough near a quarry overnight.

Armed robbers write Letter to Streets in Palmgroove; say they are coming to raid (See Letter)

Residents in some streets in the Palmgroove area of Lagos are currently living in fear after receiving a letter from armed robbers who said they are coming soon to raid them.



(copy of the purported letter above). The letter which was sent to five different streets on Saturday September 6th, reads in part;

“Beware of the coming! Be on the look out in this area. Property owners are coming anytime from now. The gate men you have are not our problem. Our problem is how many resources do you have for us? August visitor must visit whether you like it or not. So expect August visitor when you did not expect. Surely August visitor shall visit just like the second coming of Jesus. It is turn by turn.”

In the last line of the letter which is not clear, the armed robbers listed names of the street they plan to attack. They are Oseni street, Nkanna street, Odogbolu street, Ibiwoye Oba and Bode Thomas street.

Some residents in the area immediately contacted police and they sent some of their men to guard the streets for a few hours yesterday. The residents say they are so scared.

Photos: Homophobic Attacker Left Hammer Embedded in Skull of Flatmate

18 year old Connor Huntley (pictured above) was found by medics with a hammer embedded in his skull after his homophobic flat mate, 21 year old Joseph Williams attacked him with a hammer as he slept in their 2-bedroom apartment in Kent, UK. After the attack, Williams called 999 and confessed to the horrific attack.

“I don’t know how to say this but he’s dead in my flat. I hit him on the head with a hammer in his sleep.” Williams told the operator

Doctors say Connor is lucky to survive the assault (pic of his x-ray with the hammer in his head), but he now suffers from epilepsy and has been robbed of his independence.

Former President Obasenjo’s Son Attacked by Boko Haram

Sahara Reporters is reporting that Boko Haram militants attacked a platoon led by the son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, shooting him today.. They say he ustained serious injuries to his legs and was being transported to the hospital at the time of their report. Find it below…

“Adeboye Obasanjo, an army engineer, was a Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State.

He and his platoon were engaged with Boko Haram militants at Baza, which is the village of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd division when the incident took place.”

The Lieutenant Agwu of the 234 battalion, GOC of the 3rd Division, Major Gen JS Zaruwa and Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who serves as the Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army brigade in Yola were all together advancing towards Michika when Boko Haram fighters unleashed the deadly attack on the soldiers.”

24 soldiers in the platoon were reportedly killed by the militants.

Apart from the dead soldiers, the army also lost an armored tank to the militants. As a result of the attack, the army has moved sensitive weapons from mubi to the Brigade headquarters in Yola leaving mubi vulnerable to attack. The town of Mubi has practically been deserted following the closure of schools and massive retreat of soldiers from the city.

The former president is currently traveling in Singapore according to family sources.

‘Our Sons Rape us on a Daily Basis’ – Imo Christian Mothers Cry Out

Christ Mothers in Mgbishii, a rural community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area in Imo state have cried out to the government and the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiatical Province, Dr. Anthony Obinna, over alleged atrocities being committed by their sons and daughters in the area.

According to Vanguard, the women made this appeal during a recent visit to the Catholic Archbishop at the Maria Assumpta Catholic Cathedral in Owerri.

“We are raped and molested by our own children. You cannot come to Mgbuishii and return home safely because of the crime rate” the women said. Continue…

According to the women, they have complained to the state government and other security agents over the high rate of crime being committed by their children but all their complaints have not been answered.

“We are angry because government is not looking at our direction at all. We have been completely abandoned for years. Now we have no good roads, no electricity, no market, nothing is going on in our place. To make things worse, we are now suffering from insecurity” they said

The women decried the lack of police presence within their community. They say their sons have become so wayward that they beat up any police man who tries to intervene during any criminal activity within the community.

“Each time we report cases to the police and they manage to send their men at all, the criminals beat them(policemen) up because they (criminals) parade more sophisticated weapons than what the policemen have. We needed police escort to get here (Maria Assumpta Cathedral) and we will also need them to go back home” they said

The women also said they are thinking of relocating from their villages to safer places in Rivers state. They say even the catholic priest in their community is also threatening to leave their community

“Even the Reverend Father in our place is complaining and threatening to go away. About two weeks ago, some reverend sisters visited our place and were waylaid on the road and robbed. We have a lot of problems and that is why the women have come to complain to the Archbishop, who is our father in the lord” they said

The Archbishop after listening to all their complains prayed for the women.
