Boko Haram militants lining up elderly and shooting them in Borno

According to a report by AP, Boko Haram members are turning their guns on elderly people, & killed about 50 of them this week in a new tactic to instill more fear in some Northern areas...

Residents from five villages say people too elderly to flee Gwoza local government area are being rounded up and taken to two schools where the militants open fire on them. The villages are about 130 kilometers (80 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, in Borno

"What they are doing now is to assemble the aged people - both men and women ... and then they just open fire on some of them," said Muhammed Gava, a spokesman for civil defense groups in the area. 

More than 50 people had been killed at Government Day Secondary School in Gwoza, he said.

A villager who had fled said more elderly people are being gathered and shot at Uvaghe Central Primary School. The villager spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of endangering his trapped parents.

Government officials did not immediately comment on the reports.

Nigeria's military said soldiers are patrolling "in search of terrorists" and "to verify abductions" Friday around the village of Gumburi, where witnesses say extremists kidnapped at least 185 people a week ago.

Nigeria's military and government have been criticized for their failure to rescue 219 schoolgirls kidnapped from a town near Gumburi in April.

In separate attacks Friday, witnesses said Boko Haram struck at Damagum and Mamudo towns in Yobe state, bombing government buildings, the police station and military barracks.

The extremists suffered a setback when they attacked soldiers guarding a power station in Borno state, according to an engineer who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals. He said soldiers were warned in advance that the extremists were advancing and engaged the militants in fierce fighting that killed at least 70.

Extremists have killed thousands of people in a 5-year uprising that has driven some 1.6 million from their homes.

Newborn Baby Eaten Alive By Ants After Mum Dumps Her Naked In Dustbin [Photos]

A newborn baby girl of just two hours old who was allegedly dumped naked by her mum in a trash can was discovered eaten alive by ants near a school in Bhopal in India.

A Mirror UK report on Thursday, December 18, 2014 said that the baby was discovered by a 32-year-old school security guard, Ahmed Kahn after he heard her cry repeatedly.

He said, “I heard the sound of a baby crying but at first thought it was some kids messing around.

“But as it continued I realised it was coming from a bin across the road and when I went over I saw this blood red body of a baby covered in ants.

“It was truly horrifying.

“The baby was waving its arms and legs around to get away from the pain from the bites because it was covered in ants.

“They were crawling all over her and eating her alive.

“I immediately pulled her out, beat off the ants and called an ambulance.”

After the discovery, the baby was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance where she is now lying in a critical condition

With the help of a CCTV footage, police officials were able to spot the baby’s mother in a hood dumping the naked child in the bin. She claimed that the baby’s father promised to marry her but disappeared after he got her pregnant.

She disclosed that she dumped the baby in order to avoid stigmatization of having a baby outside marriage

Angry Ogbete Market Mob Set Two Boys Ablaze For Alleged Stealing in Enugu

The entire Ogbete main market in Enugu state was thrown into pandemonium on Friday as an angry market mob set two young boys ablaze for alleged stealing in the market.

According to AfricanExaminer, eyewitnesses said the two boys were allegedly “burnt in the early hours of Friday at rail line holy ghost axis, Enugu by an angry mob for breaking into people’s shops.
Following the setting of the two boys ablaze, the entire market was thrown into serious crisis, as friends of the victims declared war on managers of the market for given the order. The situation
would have turned bloody, if not for the quick intervention of police operatives from the state central police station.

Confirming the ugly incident, the state police public Relations officer, PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, said:

“The attention of police operatives of the central police station of the Enugu state command were drawn to the incident. And on their quick arrival to the scene, they met the victims severely burnt and unconscious, but however, rushed them to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The command is urging the people to be law abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands as well as jungle justice, just as it has commenced full scale investigation into the incident.

Horror!! Lagos Student Stabs Father In The Eye Over Christmas Clothes

A secondary school student in Oshodi area of Lagos threw decorum to the wind yesterday, when he stabbed his father in the right eye for failing to buy him Christmas clothes.

The boy, a Senior Secondary School (SSS3) student, who was identified simply as Ikechi, was said to have held his father, Anthony, hostage for some minutes in their apartment on Arowojobe Street, Osodi, before committing the dastardly act, because the man failed to buy him Christmas clothes.

According to family members, Anthony was said to have explained to Ikechi that he had only “small money” which barely paid for the Christmas clothes of his three siblings, but all appeals made by his father fell on deaf ears.

Ikechi’s cousin, Ukachukwu, revealed that Ikechi was so livid that he quarrelled with his father through the night, insisting that he must get his Christmas clothes, because he wanted to wear it to the birthday of a friend at one of the beaches along the Victoria Island-Epe Expressway, on Sunday.

According to Ukachukwu, when Anthony, who works as a guard in a hotel, wanted to leave for work, his son would not let him leave.

“He accused his father of hating him and, fed up with his complaints, the man got his belt and began to flog the boy.
“As his father continued flogging him, Ikechi reached for a knife and stabbed him straight in the eye. Upon seeing the horror of his deed, Ikechi took his heels.

“When I wanted to run off to the police station to report the issue to the police, his mother begged me not to, as it will ‘involve more expenses.”

Anthony, who was rushed to the hospital right away is under intensive care, while family members are praying for him to see properly with the eye again.

“But I doubt if he will still see with that eye again,” Ukachukwu said.

 'I had Johnny Walker Black. I had two doubles man and tripped over a chair. I had been on the [red] carpet for the pictures, I meet a couple of famous people I knew go and talked with them, and then somebody left a chair and I stepped back and fell over, I saw my ex (Monica) look up, and within a few minutes after the picture was taken, security came up and said "we’re taking you home". I said "but I haven’t seen my daughter yet"… and they said "don’t matter man".'They said "please do not make a scene it will reflect on your daughter. When I got back I picked up a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, had a couple and went to sleep.'

When Daily Mail Online spoke to Ronald on Tuesday he was preparing to head back to Barbados without having seen his daughter on this trip.

He said: 'I’m sad how it ended of course, I should have never taken that first drink or any drink for that matter. I wish I had seen her of course. She will probably hear how I was and how I had a few drinks, so I guess she would be angry with me. I think she is, I’m not sure, we haven’t spoken just yet.'

Asked what possessed him to drink at the event, Ronald claimed he was depressed that his two older children from a previous relationship – Rihanna’s half brother and sister Jamie and Samantha - weren’t invited.

He said: 'That day of the event I was really down. My other son and daughter in Barbados, Samantha and Jamie, were not invited and they were on my case about it and making me feel bad and guilty. Cousins and everybody on the other side was invited but why wasn’t Jamie and Samantha there? It wasn’t the first time either. I got really down and depressed and that was basically why I started drinking that day.'

His relationship with Rihanna has often been rocky. Six years ago Ronald was sent home from her North American tour as punishment for drunken behaviour on her tour bus. Rihanna then froze her dad out for two years before they reconciled.

Ronald told how his problems with booze came to a head last November and Rihanna secretly put him in rehab.

"I said 'sweetheart all I need is my change back, and I was getting loud, I see her hold up her hand and her management [came over] and then the police, took me. Me and my big mouth again. Next morning I went to a magistrate and he said 30 days in prison or 30 days in rehab which do you want? and I said ‘rehab’.'

While I was in rehab, she came to visit and we talked. She asked me if it was hard. She was happy to see me, said she was very proud of me at the time. She sent bags of stuff for me, tracksuits, warm jackets and shampoo, an extra pair of shoes and slippers – some nice stuff.'

After checking out Ronald returned to Barbados but he has flown back to LA for urine tests every three months. When he comes Rihanna has the mini-bar in his room emptied of alcohol. He has also been attending alcoholics anonymous in Barbados.

Ronald says he feels terrible for breaking his promise to his daughter but when asked if he’s an alcoholic, he says: 'Me, no, drunk and disorderly. I don’t see myself as an alcoholic, I don’t realise when I get that drunk.

'Call me a drunk or alcoholic in denial, whatever you want to call me but I have realised I could drink or not drink.

'I only start[ed] drinking, once I come back here in December.'

However he apologized to Rihanna: 'I feel bad because I let her down because she spend all that money putting me in rehab, [and] then find me drunk somewhere. It is not good. 'What can I say but I’m sorry. It’s me who f**ed up.'

One thing that annoys him is some of the large entourage of so-called friends she surrounds herself with.

He recalled a shopping trip in London with Rihanna and a group of friends where he watched them all buy stuff for themselves with her money.

He said: 'What’s the name of that place, that very expensive place, Harrods. We going in there and I just see her friends, stocking up on shoes like crazy. Parasites - whatever you want to call them - that need to go and have their own life.'

Ronald doesn’t like Rihanna’s best friend Melissa Forde who grew up with her in Barbados and seems to constantly be by her side as she travels the world.

He said: 'If it was me she would have to go, if I had anything to do with it she would have to go.

'She’s the one who goes shopping and everything.

'I think Melissa should be old enough to be able to stand on her own two feet, of course come and visit her like the rest of her friends but she doesn’t need to be there all the time.

'Monica says "but she helps Robyn pack her bags", I said "Melissa don’t pack no bags sweetheart, I know that, so don’t give me that. I’ve been in the house. I said that’s a joke.'

Ronald has long forgiven Rihanna’s ex Chris Brown for assaulting her and openly admits he still has a big soft spot for him.

However he thinks his daughter may have washed her hands with him for good.

Revealing how Rihanna coldly blanked Chris when they were at a charity basketball game in August, he said: 'I don’t know what their relationship is now. At the basketball, they just said "hi and hello".

'When we was going to the car park he was trying to talk with her but she turned and was talking to somebody else, so he came and talked to me and I had a picture with him. Afterwards Robyn said, "dad you really taking pictures with he though?"(sic).'

Although he has said in the past he would be happy for them to get back together, Ronald isn’t so sure now.

He said: 'Let her do what she wants to do. This recycling thing don’t work for everything, people don’t ask me if I could go back with Ms Fenty.

'Chris is a player, he ain’t ready for no one women yet, he ain't ready. He’s a party guy.

"When I see in the papers he’s in trouble, I think "Chris what the hell are you doing man?" The guy has got so much talent you know what I mean, to just screw up like that.

'He can draw, he can do anything, man you give it to Chris he can do it great. He’s so talented.'

Ronald confirms Rihanna is still single despite being linked with the likes of Chris Martin, Justin Bieber and even Eminem in the past few months.

Her last relationship was with Drake but it fizzled out in June this year.

He said: 'She says "dad can you believe I don’t have a man?" A beautiful woman like that don’t have a man, no I don’t believe it.

'She needs to find the right man who’s compatible. She may be looking in the wrong direction, they don’t have to be in the entertainment business but that’s the people she’s meeting.'

 Last week US gossip outlets were awash with rumours Rihanna was pregnant. Shooting down the rumour, Ronald laughs: 'No she's not pregnant, but I want someone to start giving me grandchildren! Of course I want to be a grandfather.

General Overseer of an Abuja-based church kidnapped

The General overseer of Abuja-based church, Great Calling Ministry, Pastor Francis Irabor was  kidnapped by unknown gunmen while driving along the Lokoja-Abuja Rd in Abuja this past weekend

According to reports, the Pastor and his driver identified as Matthew Obamhen were driving in his Prado SUV along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway when a peugeot 406 with a concealed plate number double crossed his car, dragged him out, forced him into the trunk of their car and then sped off. 

 

After the incident, the pastor's driver drove the car to his house in Utako, Abuja and narrated what happened to his family members. The case was reported to the Utako police station. His family say they haven't heard from him or his abductors.
